Always a picture taker but now a photographer. I enjoy color, yet find myself drawn to the subtleties of black and white for most of my photos. The light and it's reflections being shown in their purest form. I feel it adds to the starkness and singular beauty I like to see in my work. Simple subjects, yet captured with enough latitude to allow different emotions among different observers.
All photographers are historians of the moment. Quite frequently these moments in time are irreplaceable. My current working theme is a desire to find what I call "rural Ventura County." I am a lifelong resident and a small spoke in the wheel of development. As such, I feel a strong need to preserve these symbols of our past, especially when I know they will not survive our future.
